After taking a week off, We’re back to unveil page 10! Some of you who have been following us from the start might notice that the look of the comic has been evolving over the past few pages. We have been playing around with a few new styles as of late. It’s probably a big “Don’t do that!” in the webcomic world, but the honest answer is patience has never been one of our strong virtues. Instead of taking the time to perfect a certain look, we kind of just jumped in head first without checking the depth. Just these first 10 pages have taught us a lot about the process, and has shed a lot of light in areas that we didn’t even consider when we first set out to make this little zombie tale of ours come to life on the web. It has truly been an evolving project since day one.
For the time being, the earlier pages will probably stay the same, just to maybe give some behind the scenes look into the planning process and the different styles we have gone through just in the first two months. The good and the bad. Some pages really didn’t turn out the way we wanted, (Page 7 and 8 I’m looking at you!) which really got us trying out new styles. It turns out, the simplest one is the best looking in our opinion. And the one that we will continue to move forward with.
All of that being said, when we started this project it was just supposed to be a webcomic and nothing more. Just something to introduce us to the community and get our names out there. Something we are still putting our hearts and souls into everyday. Here lately we have been kicking around the idea of doing a low print run in the form of a standard comic if the fan base grows. We are still very early in this process so it’s just really hard to tell what it will end up being. But if and when we do decide to print, we will most definitely go back and update the art in the earlier pages to bring the whole look together.
So let us know what you think! How do the changes look?
